In partnership with teachers, IE has developed two resources for teachers at Key Stage 2:

More than an Airport More than an Airport is a non-fiction big book for teachers at Key Stage 2 full of colourful illustrations, photographs and lively text. It introduces young readers to Manchester Airport by looking at:
- the history of the Airport
- its layout including an aerial photograph
- the use of signs
- how passengers and luggage are processed
- plans for the future
- environmental policies with specific reference to the second runway
Activities range from non-fiction activities, looking at signage, menus and processes etc. through to creative role play. There are opportunities to introduce work on words, sentences and both fiction and non-fiction texts. Links to the National Curriculum are clearly specified for easy reference.
Numeracy Counts This 80-page resource with supporting teachers' notes uses facts and information about Manchester Airport to make numeracy relevant to young pupils. Fully photocopiable and with supporting teachers' notes, it is divided into four sections:
- Time
- Measurement
- Numerical word problems
- Handling data
It is aimed at Key Stage 2: Years 5 and 6, however some of the activities may be amended for use by pupils in Years 3 and 4.
Accessing the World
Accessing the World examines Manchester Airport from local, national, international and global perspectives. Containing a wealth of maps, plans, aerial photographs and data, the resource includes excellent source material for geography students at Key Stages 3 and 4. It has been specially developed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum and provides differentiated tasks to test students at all levels.

COIC has produced a comprehensive guide to working in the Airport Industry. Innovate Educate was invited to write a supplement which highlights the diversity of jobs at Manchester Airport. The supplement looks at the roles of Environment Officer, Airfield Safety Officer and Firefighters amongst others. Aimed at pupils aged 14+ it provides a flavour the fascinating jobs and careers on offer.
