To apply design principles based on the five urban design qualities, synthesize site analysis, and draw conclusions.

Objectives

To apply urban design principles in the light of information and materials collected on the site visit.

To present formally the site analysis and observations.

To formulate conclusions and design alternatives.

To produce a final presentation of the analysis and recommend solutions.

Student learning & output

Students rehearse informally the application of urban design principles through mental mapping.

Students present formally their understanding and analysis of the urban design qualities in relation to the site visited, and outline their development solutions.

Students prepare for the final session when they will engage in redesigning a place based on the qualities they have learned about.
